Squid is so tasty that it only only a few ingredients to make the ideal dinner. These squids are easy to make and delicious on their own, but they also look lovely in a salad, on top of a garlic pasta dish, or with a couple slices of crusty bread. We recommend using fleur de sel in our recipe, but any good salt will suffice if you can’t find it at the market.
Many people avoid eating squid because of the cleaning process, which, contrary to popular belief, is not difficult. However, most commercially available squid is already cleaned and ready to cook. Most grocery stores sell frozen squid, and because it thaws rapidly, there’s
no need to plan ahead.

Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Health Certificate, Packing List, and Origin Certificate Squid right from the sea, in all its tumultuous grandeur… tentacles strewn everywhere. Because the size of these larger squid varies, your pack may contain one huge and one little. In a medium pack, you might get 2-4 fish, and in a big pack, you might get 3-6 fish, as a rough estimate. Of course, this is dependent on their size. If you’re looking for similar-sized fish, take a look at our squid tubes, which are size-graded. Tenderizing these fish isn’t necessary. Because the squid is frozen in clumps, you’ll have to defrost it all at once.
Heat the oil in a big skillet over high heat until it is hot but not smoking. Sear the squid and tentacles for 1 minute, tossing frequently to ensure equal frying. If you overcook the squid, it will become rubbery.
Unlike sea salt, fleur de sel is an expensive sort of salt made from saltwater that is gathered as it evaporates from the water’s surface. The crystals have a lovely flowerlike design on them, which gives the salt its name. The salt crystals are traditionally harvested by hand in France, Spain, and Portugal, where they are extracted, treated with care, and then dried in the sun before being packed for sale. The quantity of labor required to produce a pound of fleur de sel is particularly high.
